This excellent writing selection comes from one of our graduating seniors. It is an excellent paper, in part, because it is very well-researched, his assertions are backed up with documentation, and the writing is graceful and stylistically correct. This paper skillfully weaves two themes together: the plight of the farmworker (dangerous working conditions, low pay, and social isolation) and the art of translation. The author, Thomas Allison, also translated this paper to Spanish to complete the translation research paper requirement in SPAN471: The Art of Translation.
