About Me
Dr. Bauer’s favorite opera roles include: Anne Truelove from “Rake’s Progress,” Marie from the “Daughter of the Regiment,” and Mrs. Grose in “Turn of the Screw.” Dr. Bauer also has served as musical director for many musical productions such as “Guys and Dolls,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “The Pirates of Penzance,” and more.
Dr. Bauer is currently the coordinator of the Graduate Program within the School of Music. Dr. Bauer is the director of Western’s Opera Workshop Ensemble. This ensemble excerpts scenes from opera and operetta and performs with costumes and sets. This ensemble performs in spring semesters. In addition, Dr. Bauer frequently arranges local tours for the singers in the voice department.
She lives in Sylva, North Carolina with her husband, two children, two dogs, one cat, and two guinea pigs.
