Ryan is a Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a mechanical concentration. Last year he combined his interest in biodegradable polymers with his interest in Crocs (shoes). He designed, built and tested Crocs made from biodegradable plastics. Ryan was also an NSF Undergraduate Researcher in our group in 2022-2023. This year he is developing a biomedical device to detect muscular contractions in the gastrocnemius (calf muscle) in order to better understand contraction timing during gait. This research will be used to enhance research on the neural prosthesis.
